On Wednesday the 7th of December, we held our School Concert.
After much preparation, it was a big day but a wonderful one. Students were able to have an experience of a stage performance. Many were challenged by the daunting task of performing in front of an audience but all rose to the occasion and put on an amazing show!
Thank you to all the parents and friends that attended. We thank all parents that helped with costumes and the staff for the big effort on the day and night. A big thank you to Ms. Lucas for her expertise and hard work in putting the concert together.

The students in Grade 1/2 have been learning about how people can be connected to a place, their community, and each other. Students explored these ideas through the study of portraiture. What can portraits tell us about a person? How do we come to understand more about them? What is used to represent people and the things that they value? Students observed and discussed a variety of artist portraits, and were able to engage in producing self-portraits and portraits of friends and family.
Last Friday, the Junior Learning Centre became an exhibition space where visitors were invited to view these portraits, and could learn techniques from students. Portraits are valuable in the way in which they communicate ourselves and our messages.
