Our Grade One classes will travel to the Moonlit Sanctuary
on Thursday 16th May. The students will have the opportunity to investigate Australian animals as part of their Term 2 Science inquiry.

Catholic Education Week begins on the 17th May and is an opportunity to celebrate the great learning in our Catholic schools. This year to celebrate this important event, Columba students and staff will join with the other PIPs schools, St James Nar Nar Goon, and St John's Koo Wee Rup, by celebrating Mass together. The 3-4 classes will host mass here at Columba on Wednesday 22nd May, Prep-2 will go to John’s on Thursday 23rd May and the 5-6 classes will go to St James on Friday 24th May. Families are welcome to join us for any or all masses beginning each day at 10am. Details have been included in permission forms on PAM for students in P-2 and 5-6.

The grade 3-4 students will be exploring concepts in Science this term and will attend an excursion in support of this inquiry.
They will be attending a Science show, The Alphabet of Awesome Science, on Friday 31st of May at the West Gippsland Art Centre, Warragul. During the show the Grade 3-4s will be learning about different Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences and Biological Sciences giving them the opportunity to explore and discover the wonders of our world.

Our Prep classes are currently planning walking excursions to visit some important people who help us in our Bunyip community: the CFA, the Police Station, IGA, the Dentist. Hopefully we can organise this in the coming weeks so students have the opportuntiy to develop their understanding of their place in our local community.
