Grade 6 Confirmation
On Wednesday, June 4th, Grade 6 students from Columba celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation at St. Johns Koo Wee Rup Church. The church was filled to capacity with proud parents and loved ones who witnessed this significant milestone in the students' faith journeys.
Confirmation is a pivotal sacrament in many Christian traditions, including Catholicism, which deepens and strengthens the grace received at Baptism. Through the anointing with chrism oil and the laying on of hands by the Bishop (Bishop Greg), the confirmed are sealed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit. This sacrament empowers individuals to become more mature in their faith, taking on a greater responsibility for their spiritual lives and their role within the Church community. It affirms their membership and commitment, calling them to actively live out their faith and bear witness to Christ in the world.
