A Window Into Learning At Columba
Welcome to
The Grade Prep Museum!
This term the preps have become entomologists! We've been learning all about different minibeasts like spiders, ladybugs, slaters, and butterflies. We've asked questions and then investigated throughout the term to find the answers. We concluded our inquiry with a Prep Museum expo to showcase our learning. We created our own ultimate minibeasts and had to plan and label our designs, draw its lifecycle, create the habitat and then make our models. The whole school came to visit and listen to our resident experts on all things bugs!
A Force to be reckoned with!
There have been many forces at work in the Grade One-Two classrooms as students learn how objects can be structured, arranged, and built to make things move for different purposes, using push, pull, torque and gravity. Teachers witnessed the making of many creations, such as windmills, pulleys, ramps, carts, and catapults! It was fantastic to see the hands-on engineering and ideas from students!
