Student Wellbeing

At Columba we believe that the social, emotional, moral, spiritual and physical wellbeing of our students is pivotal to student health, safety, learning and success.

We aim to provide an educational environment which recognises, values and builds student wellbeing.

Informed by social justice, we promote and foster inclusion, engagement, connectedness and belonging in our students, whilst developing strong relationships with parents and the broader community. We encourage empathy towards the feelings of others, the development of problem solving skills and respect for the rights of all.

Under the umbrella of student wellbeing resides the area of learning adjustment which supports our students in areas of literacy, numeracy and special needs. We promote a whole-school approach by addressing the modes of prevention and opportunities for growth and early intervention specifically. These are also supported with the welfare modes of intervention and recovery.
